Sustainability

From the conception of our company “doing the right thing” has been important to our team and customers. The below links provide further information about our Socially Responsible practices.

Recycling

  • All office paper purchased is 100% recycled and then it is recycled after use. Paper free production process is now in place.
  • Cans & bottles recycled through co-mingle recycling program
  • Re-using cardboard boxes for packing
  • All soft plastics are recycled with industry partner Re-Ground and turned into practical products here in Australia such as park benches and shopping trolleys.
  • All printer cartridges and other office waste recycled via Office works in-store program.

Energy

  • Electricity supplied by Powershop – supplying us with 100% carbon neutral electricity.
  • Gas supplied by Momentum Energy, Australian owned hydro energy company.
  • Roof top solar power now installed at new Pascoe Vale building as of Jan 2024.

Water Capture

  • Water tanks installed by mid 2024 capturing rain water to be used for washout of screens.

Plastics phased out

  • All single use plastics phased out.
  • Replacement of all PVC tape to paper tape by mid 2024.
  • Replacement of all plastic swing tag applications to bio-plastic by end 2024.
  • Replacement of current degradable plastic bags to either cello or bio-plastic by end 2024.
  • Replacement of plastic film already phased out with computer to screen technology.

Inks & Chemicals

  • All plastisol inks used are PVC free / Phalate free and made in the USA. All plastisol inks are stored and re-used.
  • All water based inks are made in Japan and are solvent free / acrylic based.
  • Most textile adhesive used is water based – phased out spray adhesive for 80% of production.
  • Spray adhesive cans recycled through special local recycling program.
  • All screen making and cleaning chemicals are enzyme based, low VOC solutions.
  • Any chemicals treated through sewage waste system approved by Trade Waste Victoria.

Garments

  • All garments are only purchased from garment manufactures that have proven supply chain tracking [see our ‘code of conduct’]
  • Cancelled / wearable garments donated to Brotherhood of St Lawrence.
  • Faulty garments recycled by Upparel or Textile Recyclers Australia
